Join the Blood Bag Crew at Our Blood Institute: Be a Critical Contributor!

Are you interested in gaining valuable experience in the healthcare field, particularly in phlebotomy? If you prefer to work behind the scenes, OBI has the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! Volunteers are needed to help label empty blood bags for mobile blood drives. We have a lively group of volunteers who meet weekly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to complete the blood bag numbering project. Blood donations cannot happen without the bags; therefore, this is a critical volunteer role that supports OBI’s lifesaving mission.

What Blood Bag Crew Volunteers Do:

• Label empty blood bags according to Donor Services' Standard Operating Procedure for use throughout OBI’s service area in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.
• Properly record and document donor identification numbers on a numbering bag log.

What We’re Looking For: We need dedicated volunteers who can sit for a minimum of 4 hours in a comfortable setting. Good vision and finger dexterity are essential, along with a professional appearance. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working methodically and contributing to a vital cause.
