About this Opportunity
LBFE’s Visiting Volunteer Program is one of our most impactful and rewarding opportunities-and we’re especially looking for Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking volunteers to be matched 1:1 with older adults in our Chinese-speaking community who are experiencing loneliness and isolation.
As a Visiting Volunteer, you’ll build a real and lasting friendship through regular in-person visits. For many older adults, these visits are the highlight of their week and a vital source of connection, comfort, and joy.
To get started, you'll need to:
- Attend a one-time volunteer orientation
- Complete a background check
- Join a 1-hour virtual training for the program
If you’re ready to make a lasting impact and speak Cantonese or Mandarin, we would love to match you with an older adult who would benefit from connecting in their native language.

Your language skills can make all the difference-help us bring friendship to life, one visit at a time.
