About this Opportunity
Deforestation is a serious problem in Mongolia. Before 1990, forests covered 10% of the country, but only 7% today. This is caused by uncontrolled tree cutting, forest fires and global warming. On the other hand, it takes a long time for trees to grow, and May and mid-October are the only times for planting trees in Mongolia.
Volunteers in this project will plant trees in several areas around Ulaanbaatar and Buhug river. There's increase in reforestation activities by some organizations but it takes many years for trees to grow, so we'll also join this movement.
Participants are expected to like planting work and simple nomadic life.
Project dates: April 27 - May 10, 2025
Location: The project site is located 45 km from Ulaanbaatar.
