Did you know that there are thousands of foods and herbs that can impact our mental health in positive ways? CrowdDoing is a global virtual collaboration to research medicinal foods for stress, sleep and anxiety. Our project has the goal of advancing integration across fields of research and to build medicinal foods literacies in the population. We're recruiting virtual volunteer service learning project managers.

This role is for Dietician Volunteer- Medicinal Foods & herbs for stress, sleep and anxiety, CrowdDoing. CrowdDoing aims to make each role flexible, allowing you to become engaged according to your own schedule. We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and organized dietitian to join our growing volunteer team. In this position, you will create nutritional programs based on the health needs of our patients.

You will also plan cost-efficient ways to achieve stress, sleep and anxiety goals of our users. Help develop content that supports eating habits that address stress, sleep and anxiety.

Dietitian Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient lifestyle, nutritional, and health needs
  • Advise patients on setting specific nutrition goals
  • Develop a thorough and cost-efficient meal plan that includes healthy foods and meets nutrition goals
  • Coordinate with patient healthcare professionals as needed
  • Monitor, track, and adjust meal plans
  • Document patient progress and share with healthcare professionals
  • Provide users with educational facts on nutrition to improve their health
  • Work with families, couples, and individuals to help them make desired dietary changes to their lifestyles
  • Present facts about diet and nutrition during community events and speaking engagements
  • Translate nutrition science into understandable, practical eating advice

Dietitian Volunteer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, or a related field
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification, Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), and/or state license as required by law
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organized and able to create multiple nutrition plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compassionate and sensitive to patients’ needs and concerns
