At Lamb’s Haven Kindergarten, nestled in the rural mountains of Bolobedu South, Limpopo, we believe that every child deserves a safe space to grow, learn, and be loved.
This is more than just an internship—it’s an invitation to step into purpose. Here, you won’t just observe from the sidelines—you’ll engage, inspire, and contribute meaningfully as part of a dedicated team working to uplift and educate children in a deeply underserved community.
What You’ll do (Key Responsibilities):
As an intern, you’ll assist our early childhood educators in the day-to-day rhythm of the kindergarten. Your tasks may include:
- Supporting classroom routines for children ages 3–6
- Assisting in arts and crafts, music, sing-alongs, storytelling, and gross-motor activities
- Helping with emotional and social development through guided play
- Providing individual attention to children who need extra support
- Assisting with educational games, literacy, and numeracy activities
- Helping during snack time, outdoor play, and tidy-up routines
- Participating in occasional family outreach visits alongside our team

Who We’re Looking For:
- Volunteers willing to learn and assist with children.
- Students or recent graduates in Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Work, or related fields. Teachers looking for a break but wanting to experience different cultures.
- Passionate, creative individuals who love working with children
- Culturally open-minded and respectful of local traditions
- Willing to serve, learn, and contribute in practical and heartfelt way
What’s provided:
- Accommodation at our Volunteer Base with other interns and volunteers
- Daily dinners (Monday to Friday)
- Filtered drinking water
- On-site support and orientation
- Access to Wi-Fi, swimming pool, and laundry facilities
- A rich, cross-cultural community and mentorship from local educators
- You can also alternate between the other 5 programs on the base.
Not Included:
- Flights, visas, travel insurance, personal expenses
- Airport or shuttle transfers to and from Tzaneen (can be arranged at extra cost)
