About this Opportunity
- Provide academic support to secondary school students in core subjects (e.g., Math, Science, English, Social Studies), aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
- Assess students’ strengths and learning gaps to create personalized learning plans and strategies.
- Deliver engaging one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions, adapting teaching methods for diverse learning styles and English language learners (ESL).
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to both students and program coordinators/parents.
- Support the development of study skills, time management, and exam preparation techniques.
- Encourage confidence, motivation, and a positive attitude toward learning in students.
- Maintain accurate attendance and progress records in line with organizational reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to support the overall mission of the not-for-profit.
Who We're Looking For:
- Minimum age: 12
- Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills and softwares
- Complete training prior to start date
- Can commit to the shift schedule
Bonus Skills:
- Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English
- Previous volunteer experience
