About this Opportunity
Do you enjoy helping others understand and manage their emotions while building stronger, more empathetic connections? Join Toastmasters for Seniors: Managing and Understanding Emotions as an Emotional Intelligence Facilitator Assistant Volunteer and support older adults as they develop key skills in emotional awareness, regulation, and effective communication in a compassionate, interactive setting!
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in emotional intelligence coaching, group facilitation, and supportive event coordination, all while making a meaningful impact on seniors’ emotional well-being.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist facilitators in delivering emotional intelligence workshops and activities
- Support participants in recognizing, naming, and understanding their emotions
- Help guide group discussions and exercises on empathy, emotional regulation, and mindful communication
- Encourage a safe, respectful environment where seniors feel comfortable exploring their feelings
- Provide gentle feedback, encouragement, and support during role plays and reflection activities

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to learn! Ideal candidates will meet the following:
✔ Age between 12 - 30
✔ Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills
✔ Commitment to completing basic training
✔ Fluent in English
✔ Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (if over 18)
Bonus Skills
✔ Experience volunteering or working with older adults
✔ Fluency or strong proficiency in a language other than English
