The Thaddeus Resource Center is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to restore HOPE, inspire GROWTH, and EMPOWER girls and women through education, life skill development, workforce training, and other supportive services.

Description:

The Hybrid Life Coach volunteer will help improve the lives of women, girls and families by providing advice/assistance with solving problems, and help others set/accomplish their goals. The volunteer will work at the donation center that strives to empower, educate, counsel, and inspire families and individuals to move from a place of dependence to living independently. Through guidance, the Hybrid Life Coach volunteer will have a great impact on the lives of those who seek the path to a brighter future and life. The position can be performed in combination of in-person and remote work.

Time Commitment:

  • Must be available to work minimum 5 hours per week VIRTUALLY AND IN-PERSON
  • Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
    • All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9-10 AM PST
    • Programs Department Meeting: Tuesdays 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM (with 1 hour lunch between 12 PM - 1 PM)
  • Must be able to commit to this 1-year volunteer opportunity

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and advice
  • Help others establish goals
  • Help others achieve their goals
  • Provide adequate and constructive feedback
  • Encourage and motivate others
  • Help others set priorities
  • Monitor progress and find solutions to setbacks
  • The volunteer works primarily with low-income and homeless women/families

Requirements:

  • Experience as a life coach or in counseling preferred
  • Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience
  • Be a positive role model
  • Excellent listener
  • Ability to motivate, encourage, and guide others
  • Ability to pass the mandated reporter exam
  • Volunteers must have the appropriate technology, internet connection, and ability to function in a virtual capacity via Microsoft Teams
