Position Summary: Fundraising Specialist

Night Owl Reconnaissance is seeking an enthusiastic and entry-level Fundraising Specialist to play a crucial role in securing the financial resources necessary to support our mission of investigating missing persons cases and providing support to survivors. This position will primarily focus on identifying and pursuing grant opportunities from companies and foundations, as well as cultivating monetary donations from corporate entities. The Fundraising Specialist will work closely with the Leadership Team, providing support in the development and execution of fundraising strategies and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of nonprofit fundraising and contribute directly to the growth and sustainability of Night Owl Reconnaissance's vital work in bringing hope and resolution to families.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Corporate Donations: Identify and research potential corporate donors whose values and philanthropic interests align with NOR's mission in the areas of Crime & Safety and Victim Support. Assist in the development of outreach materials to engage potential corporate partners and clearly communicate the organization's mission, impact, and funding needs. Support the cultivation of strong relationships with corporate donors through regular communication and updates on the impact of their contributions.
    • Collaboration with Leadership Team: Work directly with the Leadership Team to gain a comprehensive understanding of Night Owl Reconnaissance's fundraising priorities, goals, and overall strategic direction in supporting missing persons investigations and survivor services. Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising strategies designed to meet the organization's financial objectives. Provide regular updates and reports on fundraising activities, including progress on grant applications and corporate outreach.
    • Administrative Support: Provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of development efforts, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing relevant documents. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor databases. Produce timely acknowledgement and thank you letters for all gifts received, reflecting our value of integrity and appreciation for support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are fundamental for effectively engaging with potential donors and crafting compelling grant proposals and outreach materials that clearly articulate NOR's mission and impact in the field of missing persons.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential for managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines for grant submissions, and maintaining accurate records related to fundraising efforts for our work in investigations and victim support.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite, is necessary for creating documents, managing data, and developing presentations related to fundraising for Night Owl Reconnaissance.
    • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team is important, as this role will support the Leadership Team in achieving the organization's financial goals to further our mission.
    • A genuine passion for the mission and objectives of Night Owl Reconnaissance – to improve outcomes for missing persons and support their recovery – is highly valued.
