About this Opportunity
Norfolk County RSVP Rides for Veterans
Make a difference, Drive local Veterans to and from medical appointments and other necessary trips using your own vehicle.
We need drivers throughout Norfolk County to meet the increased need among veterans for a no-cost alternative to other expensive transportation options. Drivers do not need to be Veterans to be part of this wonderful program.
Trips may be local or to a VA Hospital including Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, or Brockton. Drivers are called as needed and can opt in or out for any given trip request.
Flexible scheduling, mileage reimbursement and supplemental accident and liability insurance provided by Norfolk County RSVP. Drivers self-select rides based on where, when and how often they want to drive veterans to their appointments. Requires MA driver’s license, reliable car and background check.
COVID-19: During the current pandemic, all drivers and riders must wear masks, use hand sanitizer before entering the vehicle and follow other common-sense safety precautions. Drivers must be vaccinated to participate in this program.
PLEASE NOTE: This volunteer opportunity is available only to adults age 55 and older.
Norfolk County RSVP is a community service program for volunteers who are 55 and over. We work with more than thirty municipal, non-profit and healthcare organizations to recruit and match volunteers with programs that meet pressing community needs.
