About this Opportunity

Arrival Aid is a youth-led nonprofit committed to creating positive change within Canada's growing international community. Through interactive workshops and community-based initiatives, we aim to foster connection, build understanding and promote dual integration - ensuring newcomers feel informed, supported, and truly welcomed in their new home.

We are seeking two proactive volunteers to join our Board of Directors in a leadership capacity as Co-Directors of Finance & Grants. These are pivotal governance roles that will guide our financial sustainability and funding strategy.

Each co-director will contribute to both finance and grants but may focus more deeply in one area depending on skillset and interest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage program and organizational budgets
  • Monitor and track spending to ensure transparency
  • Identify relevant grants and funding opportunities
  • Lead or support the writing and submission of grant proposals
  • Maintain a basic system for organizing financial and grant-related documents
  • Collaborate with our youth-led team to build sustainable operations
  • Attend and contribute to board meetings (remote)

What We are Looking For

  • Familiar with budgeting, financial planning, or nonprofit operations (or willing to learn)
  • Strong writing or research skills, particularly for grant writing or fundraising
  • Organized, independent, and proactive
  • Open to learning and growing alongside a collaborative team

What You Will Gain

  • Experience in nonprofit leadership and finance/fund development
  • A meaningful opportunity to support immigrant and refugee communities
  • Flexible hours and 100% remote work
  • Supportive team culture with space to share ideas and grow
  • A reference, LinkedIn endorsement, or letter of recommendation upon request
