About this Opportunity

Project Lemonade is seeking several volunteers to support the Virtual Shopping Program team. Foster youth, ages 5-24, living outside of the Portland Metro area submit clothing requests online. We receive approximately 350 orders a year! We are looking for volunteers to support staff in filling these orders from our store inventory. Curating individualized orders requires tremendous attention to detail and a willingness to contact the young person or Guardian to glean more information to ensure their clothing box meets their personal style. The ideal candidate will also have a keen sense of teen fashion trends, curiosity to become familiar with our inventory, and regular availability to help ensure orders are filled and shipped timely to the youth.

This role could also include prepping the orders for shipment and limited driving if asked to drop packages off at a nearby shipping office.

About Project Lemonade

Project Lemonade is a Portland nonprofit with a mission to inspire self-esteem in youth in foster care. We provide resources, opportunities, and connections in a positive and welcoming environment to inspire foster youth to reach their potential. The Project Lemonade Store serves over 2,500 foster youth a year, providing a free shopping experience and brand-new clothes. In addition to the store, Project Lemonade offers a paid internship program for youth and young adults in foster care ages 14-24 and a WISH-granting program that helps youth in care pursue their dreams. Project Lemonade has served over 22,000 foster youth from 32 counties in Oregon and SW Washington since 2012.
