Veterans Program Director

Position Title: Regional Veterans Program Director

Purpose:

To provide a supportive and welcoming environment for local veterans to socialize, connect, and work through any issues or obstacles they may be facing, particularly with their service animals.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and facilitate regular meet-ups for local veterans to socialize and build community.
• Encourage veterans to bring their service animals to the gatherings and create a safe space for discussing and addressing any challenges related to service animals.
• Offer peer support and foster open communication among participants, promoting a sense of camaraderie.
• Coordinate activities that are inclusive and beneficial for both veterans and their service animals.
• Assist in identifying and addressing any specific needs or concerns raised by participants.

Time Commitment:

up to 10 hours per week, including planning and facilitating meet-ups.

Qualifications:

• You are a Veteran, and understand the needs and concerns of fellow Veterans
• Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for supporting veterans.
• Experience working with or understanding the needs of veterans and service animals is a plus.
• Comfortable facilitating group discussions and creating a welcoming environment.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to promoting the well-being of veterans.
