Free Food Harlem, an initiative of Unconditional Freedom, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, currently serves over 500 meals a week in Harlem, NY to the homeless and anyone in the community in need of a nourishing meal. Our nonprofit is dedicated to helping marginalized populations receive the tools for success and flourishing.

We focus on healthy, approachable food, served in a sit-down setting that brings love and dignity to the guests. Our meals are cooked from fresh farm produce and other donated ingredients and prepared by a chef and volunteer team who skillfully and lovingly cook each element of the meal. Care is felt in the food, as our guests receive the nourishment - physical and emotional, from the meals. Our volunteers are nourished by the whole experience as well, it is a beautiful and meaningful experience each week and continues to expand.

As a Food Delivery/Pickup Volunteer, you will serve to pick up food and other donations all over the city. We have a donated van for our nonprofit and are looking for reliable drivers to help. The area covers Manhattan and occasionally Upstate. In addition, someone to pick up compost scraps on Saturdays.

This is an in-person role, 5-20 hours per week for 3-6 months with pick-up available every day of the week.
