About this Opportunity

Who doesn't feel better after a good haircut? A good haircut can help a hospice patient feel rejuvenated, happier and ready to receive visitors and socialize! Our patients have spent a lot of time feeling and looking sick, and having someone do a cut or a shave can make their day so much nicer!

If you have a current cosmetology or barber license and are willing to complete volunteer training, YOU can make a difference for a Unity Hospice patient! Patients in hospice are typically homebound, and volunteers receive training, and background checks so they can go into our client's homes and make them feel like a person, not just a patient.

Qualifications:

- Kind, good listener, friendly

- Must be able to pass a background check (which requires a social security number)

- Willingness to go to see patients wherever they call home

Requirements:

- Must have a barber's or hairdresser's license

- Must take a drug test and a tb test (Paid for by Unity Hospice)

- Must participate in our Hospice Volunteer training, which will prepare a volunteer by covering topics in hospice, end of life care, patient support and volunteering basics

If you'd like to make a hard time better by sharing your skills to snazz up our patients, please apply!

Unity Hospice believes no one should face terminal illness alone. We will be at your side throughout this journey, delivering exceptional care for the patient, and providing ongoing support for loved ones.

We understand what you’re going through, and we commit that we’ll do whatever we can to make this time as comfortable and meaningful as it can be. We are here for you.

Volunteers are an essential part of the care we offer. Join our team today!
