The First Congregational Church of Revere Food Pantry is an emergency food provider for food insecure families in our community. We have been serving Revere and the surrounding area for the past 36 years. During the year, we serve about 900 families. We typically unload an average of 15,000 lbs of food throughout the week that we receive from the Greater Boston Food Bank.
As a Monday/Tuesday Delivery Volunteer, you assist with unloading deliveries of food from the Greater Boston Food Bank to our food pantry in Revere.
This is an in-person role with several shift opportunities. Shifts are 1 st, 3 rd, and 5 th Monday of each month at 9:30am. 2 nd and 4 th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 am. Start times are estimates.
Duties:
- unload truck using a pallet jack & conveyor belt
- cases are stacked in areas
- occasional unboxing and placing in bins required
