About this Opportunity

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description STEM Canada is seeking a talented and passionate Video Editor to join our team as a volunteer. We're on a mission to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Your video editing skills will play a crucial role in creating engaging content that captures young minds and promotes STEM education across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit videos by cutting and assembling video clips.
  • Add music, sound effects, and simple graphics to enhance videos.
  • Collaborate with team members on various video projects.
  • Make changes to videos based on feedback from the team.
  • Ensure that videos follow STEM Canada’s style and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Basic video editing skills using software like iMovie or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Creativity to produce interesting and engaging videos.
  • Attention to detail to check for mistakes in your work.
  • Good communication skills to share ideas and accept feedback.
  • An interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).
