About this Opportunity

  • *Please note this is a VIRTUAL informational session. Location has been specified as CASA Volunteers must be local to Adams and Broomfield Counties, or at least nearby to those counties.**

CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to provide volunteer advocacy and support for at-risk children and youth, empowering families to thrive. CASA Volunteers are trained to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect, as well as for children who are chronically absent from school.

CASA Volunteers ensure that the child's physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met, and that they have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and permanent home. For kids struggling in school, CASA Volunteers work to identify barriers to attendance, access community resources, and improve the student’s attendance and academic success.

Children with a CASA Volunteer are more likely to find a safe, permanent home, more likely to succeed in school, and half as likely to re-enter the foster care system.

At a CASA 101 session, you will hear from members of the CASA team about the important work our advocates are doing in the community. You will learn about our volunteer opportunities and associated responsibilities, the application and training process, time commitment, and next steps on how you can get involved. Please note that in order to become a CASA Volunteer, you must be 21+ years of age, must complete several background checks and fingerprinting, and must have lived in the United States for the past 7 years.

This virtual CASA 101 will take place on Thursday, February 6th from 6:00-7:00 PM via Zoom!

If you are interested in attending, please contact Josie Martinez, Community Engagement Manager, at [email protected] for registration information. For more information, please visit CASA17th.org.
