About the Role
We’re seeking a Web Developer to help bring Kōkūn’s mission and story to life online. You’ll take the lead on maintaining and evolving our React-based website (originally built with Bolt.new and hosted on Netlify), connecting it to data from Supabase, and helping design a seamless experience for sharing stories, research, and news.
This role combines creativity and technical skill—ideal for someone who loves building elegant, high impact web experiences and wants to apply their craft to meaningful, mission-driven work. You’ll collaborate with designers, content leads, and product team members to create a digital presence that informs, inspires, and grows with our community.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and enhance our existing React / TypeScript website
- Connect the frontend with our Supabase database (for dynamic content and data sharing with our app)
- Design and implement a blog and newsletter experience that’s visually engaging and easy to manage
- Ensure site performance, accessibility, and responsiveness
- Collaborate with designers and content leads to build layouts that make data and stories come alive
- Support deployments and testing through Netlify
- Contribute to discussions on integrating web features with the broader app experience
What We’re Looking For
- Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and React
- Experience with Supabase or similar backend integrations
- Understanding of Netlify, Git-based deployment, and version control
- Eye for design and UX — able to make information both useful and beautiful
- Curiosity about AI, data, and social impact tech
- Comfortable working independently with creative flexibility
- Self-directed, collaborative, and eager to contribute in an early-stage, mission-driven environment
What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on experience developing production-level web experiences that merge design, storytelling, and data
- Opportunities to work across the full stack, integrating modern frameworks like React, Supabase, and Netlify
- Creative collaboration with a cross-functional team shaping how technology can advance health and equity
- The satisfaction of using your expertise to help make invisible conditions visible—and build technology that drives understanding and change
