Ecosystem Synergy Steward (volunteer)

Seeking visionary pragmatists, compassionate challengers, and regenerative renegades

Ecosystem Synergy Steward

Seeking visionary pragmatists, compassionate challengers, and regenerative renegades for a groundbreaking initiative to cultivate the conditions for a thriving Earth community.

As an Ecosystem Synergy Steward, you'll join a carefully curated collaborative of brilliant minds and great hearts to develop research-backed strategies for aligning our social systems with the regenerative principles that have enabled life to flourish for billions of years.

Through a synthesis of cutting-edge science, time-tested traditional wisdom, and avant-garde praxis, you'll work to identify the most promising latent capacities within our institutions that could be synergized to create a world that works for all. This will involve:

  • Rigorously researching exemplary cultures, organizations, and communities that embody enlightened qualities like compassion, creativity, and cooperativeness
  • Analyzing the systemic factors that enable these qualities to arise and persist, and developing evidence-based models for replicating them in diverse contexts
  • Prototyping interventions, practices, and protocols to activate and align these capacities across nested scales - from individuals to organizations to entire ecosystems
  • Designing regenerative infrastructures, technologies, and economic flows that incentivize mutualistic, evolutionary relationships
  • Facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues and participatory processes to guide institutions through this regenerative metamorphosis

Ultimately, the aim is to demonstrate how we can create fundamentally life-honoring systems by working with the core drives and dynamics of the human psyche and our ecological embedment. The vision is a world in which our innate prosocial genius and biophilia are fully expressed, giving rise to an equitable, ecocentric, and evolutionarily elegant planetary civilization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent expertise in a relevant field (e.g. complexity science, ecology, anthropology, organizational development, sustainability)
  • Proven track record of applying research insights to real-world challenges in innovative, impactful ways
  • Skilled in systems thinking, participatory design, futures forecasting, and adaptive management
  • Experienced in facilitating cross-sectoral, transdisciplinary collaboration and generative dialogue
  • Exceptional ability to distill complex ideas into accessible, actionable insights and compelling narratives
  • Deep commitment to justice, equity, and the sanctity of all life, and the courage to challenge the status quo in their service

This is an unpaid, virtual volunteer role.
