SEPSA Fire Authority is a full-service department. We participate in active fire suppression of both residential and commercial properties as well as provide mutual aid to surrounding areas. We primarily do water shuttles for water supply as we do not have hydrants. We provide multiple specialty rescue services including vehicle extrication, water rescue, and rescue task force. We participate in cutting edge extrication techniques and patient care. Due to our unique location, we utilize aeromedical transportation for major incidents. In addition, we provide paramedic ALS care to our patients. We operate one paramedic ambulance which is staffed with an EMT and a Paramedic every day. Our volunteer staff is highly encouraged to acquire EMT Basic status, and or Paramedic and transition to a paid Position, but it is not required. Approximately 80% of the calls we receive are of an EMS related nature. SEPSA Fire also actively participates in the community hosting events and providing fire prevention. We love to teach children about safety and the dangers of fire and when and how to use 911. There are also several department functions that we host including pancake breakfasts, summer get together and Christmas appreciation dinner.
