About this Opportunity
The Prospect Heights Fire Protection District serves the City of Prospect Heights (IL) and adjacent unincorporated areas. With nearly 17,000 residents and another 150,000 persons in our neighboring communities we respond to over 2,400 calls annually. We provide fire suppression, rescue, special operations and paramedic-level ambulance service. We also provide Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting - ARFF - to Chicago Executive Airport. We do all of this with a combination of full time and part time members.
We have several opportunities for persons who are already an EMT or paramedic and want to become a firefighter as well as those EMTs or Paramedics who already possess state fire marshal firefighter certification. We do not pay any wages while training to become a certified firefighter. However, once certified the ability to work part time becomes available to all members.
In the last 30 years we have helped more than 300 people start their fire service career by joining our team and becoming trained.
