Stinson Beach Fire Protection District is seeking a Fire Captain. Stinson Beach is one of Northern California’s best kept secrets and is a small beach town located about 20 miles NW of San Francisco in Marin County, nestled between Mt Tamalpais State Park and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The Fire Captain is an integral part of the local community and will perform incident command and personnel supervision during incidents. This role will cover other fire department functions and perform fire officer, fire apparatus engineer and firefighting duties and emergency medical care. The Fire Captain will also perform fire prevention activities and engage in public education. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be a leader in a small community, acting as a teacher and mentor to employees, volunteers, and residents. They should bring valuable experience from other organizations to progress our district into the modern fire service. One year of professional firefighting experience and three years of experience in volunteer firefighting or an equivalent combination of experience is required. Completion of an accredited FF1 Academy or FF1 Certificate, a class B Driver's License or Class C with firefighter endorsement and possession of California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification is also required.
