We are the County Fire Department that services the area around the City Of San Marcos. We have 3 Fire Stations placed within Emergency Services District #3 boundaries in the Southern part of Hays County.

On Oct 1st, 2013, the South Hays Fire Department, INC and Hays County Emergency Services District #3 merged. Hays County E.S.D. #3, will retain the name South Hays Fire Department and its subsidiaries, Texas Fire Academy and San Marcos Area Recovery Team.
The Hays County Emergency Services District (ESD) #3 prides itself in maintaining a highly trained and equipped volunteer fire department whose members dedicate their spare time serving our community. Our members are what makes us a highly successful fire department. To keep up with the growth, and an increase in call volume, we need people like you. Our members come from all walks of life: business owners, college students, parents, teachers, retirees, career Fire Fighters / EMT's, and Law Enforcement.
