About this Opportunity
The Fire District consists of (4) stations. Once accepted, recruits are put through a comprehensive fire academy, finishing with their Firefighter I, Hazmat Awareness, and Operations Certifications. After this, they can be sent through EMT school to obtain that certification. Shift Volunteers receive a shift stipend to offset the costs of volunteering. In addition, other programs are offered, such as a student program, which provides college tuition, and a Wildland program, which lets you deploy across the state to assist other departments. EMT’s who do not wish to become Firefighters are also encouraged to apply. Volunteers attend weekly drill nights covering ongoing EMS(OTEP) and Fire training.
