About this Opportunity
The HIAS Refugee Resettlement Programat the Jewish Community Alliance is looking for volunteers to help move furniture and household items into the homes of newly arrived families.
Specific tasks include:Transporting, lifting and moving furniture from specified locations and delivering to designated apartments/houses with supervision. Must be able to life 40-50 lbs., and to carry furniture on staircases.A large vehicle to help transport items is appreciatedbut not required.
This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with refugee clients and help welcome them into the local community by preparing their new home.
