RMYC Blanco Wilderness Crew Intern

Serves as a member of the Blanco Ranger District¿s Wilderness Trail Crew, led primarily by a U.S. Forest Service Lead Wilderness and Trails employee. The primary duties of this position will be to contribute to the clearing and maintenance of over 300 miles of non-motorized hiking/horseback trails mostly within the 235,000-acre Flat Tops Wilderness Area. This position requires overnight camping in remote locations for up to 6 days, but typically service weeks are 4 days/3 nights of backpacking in duration. It also requires extensive hiking (up to 12 miles per day), strenuous labor, and carrying loads of up to 50lbs.
