Shared-Use Kitchen Coordinator - StarkFresh

StarkFresh is a small, but mighty 501(c)3 nonprofit team of staff and volunteers working together to provide realistic pathways out of poverty in Stark County, Ohio. We tackle the root causes of hunger by providing affordable retail food options and entrepreneurship programming to the underserved in our community. Being a small organization with several large-scale programs & a limited paid staff, we are adept at utilizing partnerships & our volunteer network to keep the programs running smoothly. There are several programs that we currently operate that advance our mission and reduce or remove barriers to break the cycle of poverty and provide fresh, nutritious food in chronically underserved neighborhoods throughout the County. Our main focus is on our Retail Food Programming, which includes two brick-and-mortar Grocery Stores and an online Grocery Store. Our secondary focus is on the work done around our two shared-use commercial kitchens. The FY shared-use Commercial Kitchen Coordinator VISTA will work alongside staff, existing area agencies, groups, and volunteers to better develop and refine a sustainable, robust training program that can be used to enhance the physical assets located within the kitchen spaces. The VISTA member can expect to have many opportunities to learn more about systematic racism and the lasting effects it continues to have on our food system.
