About this Opportunity

Arlee Rehabilitation Center (ARC) serves the Flathead Indian Reservation, providing a sanctuary where animals heal people and people heal animals. At ARC, those suffering from trauma and crisis find healing by helping rehabilitate neglected, abused, and abandoned reservation dogs. ARC¿s vision is a Flathead Reservation where relationships between people and their animals are no longer defined by crisis and trauma but rather by kinship and healing. We envision eventually bringing our trailblazing work to other reservations. The National Native Children¿s Trauma Center (NNCTC) is an affiliate of the University of Montana and will be partnered with ARC for this project. Its mission is to ¿Co-facilitate trauma-focused healing for native children, families, and communities. NNCTC will play an important consulting role in defining training protocols and providing required training for recruits who will be on the front lines of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) interventions, whether via the summer camp or other activities. NNCTC will offer support in refining the curriculum for our summer camp and helping with training or indirectly by ensuring that our protocols are in alignment with current best practices.

ARC project will be multi-layered; involving the the establishment of Social & Emotional Learning interventions, organization of summer camps and assisting with half day `mini¿ clinics across nine targeted reservation communities. Additionally, it will involve fundraising for stated events and expanding ARC social media presence.
