About this Opportunity

Immerse yourself in outdoor environmental projects and cultivate connection to the Northwest, your teammates, and the unique ecological features that define our region.

The Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is an AmeriCorps program that supports young adults (ages 18-25) and military veterans as they jumpstart their careers in the environmental field. We support more than 350 AmeriCorps members and experienced staff statewide who restore critical habitat, build recreational trails, and respond to local and national disasters.

All members earn a biweekly living allowance and an AmeriCorps Education Award once they successfully complete a term. For the 2024-2025 season, members will earn a living allowance of $1,441* issued twice a month. *Members with positions based in King, Snohomish, and Clark counties are eligible for a location-based elevated living allowance of $1,568 issued twice a month. Benefits for all members include health insurance, access to the Member Assistance Program (accessible and quality mental health services), and three weeks of paid, professional training.

Most of our AmeriCorps positions are 11-month field-crew positions where members serve on a crew of five, led by a WCC crew supervisor. We offer limited nine-month and three-month positions in spring and summer. We also offer 11-month Individual Placement positions, where members serve independently with natural resources organizations.
