Energy Communities AmeriCorps VISTA- Powell Econ Partnership

PEP (Powell Economic Partnership) is an economic development non-profit organization that fills the roles of economic development organization, chamber of commerce and visitor center for the Powell, WY community. PEP leverages existing assets and creates new ones to attract and retain businesses to fill industry gaps in the local economy, and to support employers through workforce recruitment, training and retention support. Outdoor Recreation (OREC) is a $1.1 trillion industry in the U.S., but only accounts for 4.4% of Wyoming¿s GDP. OREC presents the largest potential for growth, job creation and business and workforce recruitment and retention Park County, WY. For the past five years, PEP has prioritized growing OREC to diversify the local economy and create more stable jobs to replace the opportunities lost in energy, mining and related sectors. The Economic Resilience VISTA will build PEP¿s capacity to identify and fill business and workforce gaps in the Outdoor Recreation industry, to promote industry growth and job creation.
