25¿26¿Territory NFP¿Housing Action Corps

The PATHS Fellow will serve with Territory NFP in Chicago, IL from August 2025-2026. Territory is part of Housing Action Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. Housing Action Corps members receive custom training, support, and networking opportunities in housing and community development, in addition to the traditional benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA. Territory is a place-based urban design studio where young people are building better futures for themselves and their communities through the practice of design. Territory is located in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago¿s West Side and is expanding into a new permanent space (557 Central). Doing projects in public spaces, young people use their lived experience, gain civic problem-solving skills, discover transformative career pathways in design, and advocate for including young people in the design and planning of Chicago. The PATHS Fellow will create plans for the development of 557 Central, design a volunteer program, and connect with local community organizations to gather data and feedback on the Austin community and Territory¿s services.

Our ideal candidate is interested in research and ready to lead a project. They should be comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and motivated by community-based engagement and development. Familiarity with Chicago's westside culture is a plus! This position offers a $500 housing stipend.
