25-26-Will County Habitat -Housing Action Corps- Marketing

The Marketing and Communication Specialist will serve with Will County Habitat for Humanity in Joliet, IL from August 2025-2026. Will County Habitat for Humanity (WCHFH) is part of Housing Action Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. Housing Action Corps members receive custom training, support, and networking opportunities in housing and community development, in addition to the traditional benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA. Since 1988, WCHFH addresses the lack of decent affordable housing in Will County by helping low-income families purchase affordable homes and make necessary repairs. Habitat homeowners build their homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage, which helps families improve their living conditions and gain financial stability. The Marketing and Communication Specialist will create and implement a multi-channel marketing and outreach plan to raise awareness of WCHFH services and engage with our clients, volunteers, donors, staff, and community members. Our ideal candidate is passionate about housing, motivated to learn and grow through the VISTA program, and comfortable tackling projects independently and with a team. They should demonstrate strong writing and editing skills, as well as an understanding of storytelling and connecting with multiple audiences. Candidates should have some experience in graphic design, social media management, and content creation. This position offers shared housing and utilities as a supplemental benefit.
