About this Opportunity
Have you ever wondered what is was like to work in a courthouse? Are you thinking about a career in the legal field? Is law school in your future? Do you want to gain practical experience working with court patrons? If so, apply now to join Illinois JusticeCorps! Members receive extensive training on how to provide legal information, how each courthouse operates, and how to address the many needs and challenges of self-represented litigants. For example, members: (1) Staff informational desks, (2) Refer patrons to legal aid and social services, (3) Help patrons complete legal forms, (4) Assist patrons with e-filing, (5) Assist staff in courtrooms. Full-time Fellows (1700 hours) receive an $18,000.00 living allowance paid over 12 months. Half-time Members (900 hours) receive a $9,000.00 living allowance paid over 12 months. Minimum-time Members (300 hours) do not receive a living allowance. All members, upon successful completion of the term of service, are eligible for an educational award ranging from $5,920.00 to $1252.91.
