About this Opportunity

This is an AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and opening until filled. Jefferson Land Trust is a grassroots community organization. Our mission is to help the community preserve open space, working lands, and habitat forever. We do this by protecting and caring for properties. Our efforts promote species and forest diversity, healthy habitats, and productive agriculture. One of our methods to protecting these invaluable lands is through Community Forestry. In 2025 Jefferson Land Trust will open Chimacum Ridge Community Forest for visitors. This 915-acre working forest shows how community can build regenerative relationships nature. The member will steward the forest to ensure resiliency to our changing climate. They will do routine conservation activities and interact with volunteers and the public. This is also a great chance to shadow and network with variety of environmental professions. We will conduct rolling review of applications and interviews until position is filled. Monthly stipend: $3,157.
