Community Hand Up

We are an IRS tax exepmt 501(c)(3) nonproft that operates in Polk County for households that live or work in the Greater Des Moines Areaand whose income is 133-150% of the Federal Poverty level.

Our mission:Empowering the future financial security for people whose income is below middle-class class financial security by providing financial education, mentoring and emergency services.

We are here to provide help assistance to the working members of our community who need a little extra help from time to time by providing the families with the means to get them through it whether it is financialor emotional.

We do not provide assistance for normal monthly expenses: rent, utilities, car payments/insurance.

Our primary focus is making sure that people have access to auto repairs and maintenance so they can continue to get to work.
