Corewell Health Hospice and Palliative Care West Michigan Volunteer Department is part of West Michigan'sCorewell Health system.We providesupport to hospice and palliative care patients and their families in facilities and private homes environments as part of the Corewell Health healthcare system in11 West Michigan counties.

Corewell Health Hospice and Palliative Care West Michigan volunteer departmentprovides patient support and office assistance in a variety of over 15volunteer roles. We offer volunteer opportunities to support patients in facilities and private homes in 9 counties. Volunteers choose what geographic locations they would like to serve, how many patients they would like to support and how many hours they would like to volunteer. Most of our volunteers donate an hour of time per week; although, there are opportunities for additional time or less than 1 hour per week. Many of our volunteers provide services in more than 1 volunteer role.

Our volunteers have the opportunity to make a significantimpact for individuals in their community dealing with end of life with a small donation of time and by sharing genuine kindness and compassion.

Our program provides an extensive training program for each volunteer and provides on-going education, regular communicationand individualized support for volunteers to ensure a positive and meaningful volunteer experience while alsopromoting excellent end of life care for our patients and families.
