EducArte

EducArtes mission is to ensure equity in the performing arts and arts education for Latin American artists and communities in the Greater Washington DC region, with a focus on Brazilian cultural arts and the local Brazilian population. We envision a performing arts and arts education landscape in which Latin American performers and arts educators are given equal representation in our vibrant arts environment as an arts scene so that Latin American creatives feel seen and free to explore their rich traditions to create new works and innovate their practices. Our guiding values are to elevate equity and diversity in the arts, pay artists fairly, build community through creativity, and respect all cultural traditions equally. We approach our projects and community with a deep commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, and equality. Our work not only uplifts a neglected community but also sparks cross-cultural communication through workshops, lectures, discussions, residencies, and community events in traditional and non-traditional arts spaces.
