About
Minds Matter Bay Area (MMBay) is an education nonprofit that connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.
We solve for college “undermatching”: the underrepresentation of high-achieving, low-income students at selective colleges across the country. Founded in 2010, we have graduated over 200 alumni: 100% have been accepted to 4-year colleges, 78% attend the most selective colleges in the country, and 100% have graduated from college within 4 years.
Our weekly program is free for all students, and delivered by a powerful network of volunteers who mentor, teach, and accompany our students on their pathway to, through, and beyond college.
