About Minds Matter

Minds Matter Bay Area (MMBay) is a nonprofit that supports high-achieving, low-income high school students on their path to college through academic instruction, mentorship, and a community of support.

About the Role

As an instructor, you’ll lead small-group classes in critical subjects such as writing, math, and college readiness. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for college-level academics and standardized testing, while building confidence and intellectual curiosity. You’ll work with engaged, motivated students and collaborate with a team of instructors and staff to deliver a meaningful classroom experience.

Commitment & Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year commitment (2 years preferred)
  • Weekly attendance on Saturdays (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Aug–May) – There are approximately 25 sessions throughout the school year. Instructors are expected to attend at least 80% of those sessions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Teaching, tutoring, or facilitation experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
