About

Mission Statement

Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc. (PCHC) is a private, non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary health and dental care to over 15,100 active patients in the Cedar Valley area of Iowa. We provide quality medical and dental care to anyone, regardless of age, race, nationality, employment, health insurance, income or location of residence. Peoples Clinic was first organized as a free, walk-in clinic in 1976. In 1978, the clinic received an urban health initiative grant. The project grew from two part-time physicians and one nurse, housed on the fifth floor of a renovated convent, to a mid-sized community Health center. Currently, Peoples Clinic is a 40,000 square foot facility located at 905 Franklin Street in Waterloo. It has been at it's current location since 1999. Peoples Clinic Butler County (PCBC) is a satellite clinic which began seeing patients in January of 2008. PCBC is a primary clinic located in Butler County, one of the highest poverty counties in Iowa. Both medical and dental services are offered at this site. The Center has a strong commitment to providing high quality primary health and dental care, patient and staff satisfaction, and maintenance of a cost-effective system to the residents of the Cedar Valley. Collaboration with existing health resources is a key component of the organization. Pediatricians have admitting privileges at Covenant Medical Center and Allen Memorial Hospital. Internists have privileges at Allen Memorial Hospital. PCHC has a strong referral relationship with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Peoples Clinic is a member of the Iowa/Nebraska Primary Care Association.
