About

We are a group of visionaries who range in age from young children through retired adults who come together to pave the path to a brighter future. Established in 2017 by our then 13-year-old Founder, weuse our STEAM programming to bring people together.

Mission Statement

STEAM On is a Community Robotics and STEAM Center. We build community using STEAM programming (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) and robotics teams to bring people together. We offer workshops, badge labs, summer camps, and robotics team options through FIRST LEGO League Jr. (ages 6-10), FIRST LEGO League Jr. (ages 9-14), and FIRST Tech Challenge (ages 12-18). In 2019, we were awarded 3 STEM Scale Up awards from the Iowa Governor's STEM Advisory Council to further STEAM initiatives with kids pre-school through 5th+ grade.

We emphasize service to community. Many of our programs are run by a leadership team of students. We need adults to supervise and mentor our youth. Opportunities include working with students during programming and team meetings as Coach/Mentor, or other Volunteer roles in the STEAM On organization, such as Program Facilitators for Pint Size Science and STEM in Action, Program Administrator, Special Events Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Inventory Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, and many more great positions! Some roles suitable for youth volunteers, and students earning High awards in Girl Scouts/Scouts. STEAM On is a certifying organization for the Presidents Volunteer Service Award; qualified volunteers ages 5+ may earn this award through service to our organization.
