About
The Sharing Shelf was founded by a volunteer and relies on volunteers to achieve its mission of combatting clothing insecurity. Volunteers are needed in our warehouse to help sort, organize and create packages of clothing for children; to raise funds and pack backpacks each summer; in the community to organize drives and spread awareness; and to help on special initiatives. Age guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old (during Covid) to volunteer independently and we welcome teens 14-17 who may volunteer with their parent or guardian. We can organize off-site initiatives for adults with special needs and, once health concerns over Covid have cleared, we offer extensive opportunities for special needs adult programs to work in our warehouse.
Mission Statement
The Sharing Shelf combats clothing insecurity by providing children and teens in need with clothing and basic essentials, empowering them to learn, grow and reach their full potential. We are committed to the whole child, from birth through age 19.
