About this Opportunity
The Sharing Shelf is seeking volunteers to help sort donated clothing at its clothing bank. This activity requires volunteers to stand and lift bags of donated clothing. New volunteers are welcome and training is required prior to starting the activity. Once trained, volunteers will be able to sign up for shifts as their schedules allow. Flexible volunteer shifts occur Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings, and volunteers who are seeking regular, ongoing roles will be prioritized.
This opportunity is open to adults 18 years and older. Teens aged 14-17 years must register with a parent that actively volunteers alongside them.
Express interest below to register for an upcoming volunteer training (no walk-ins allowed). If planning to register alongside one or more other volunteers, or if registering with a teen ages 14-17, click "Express Interest with a Family, Group or Team."
The Sharing Shelf addresses clothing insecurity and meets the basic material needs of low-income children and teens in Westchester County. It is committed to the whole child—from birth through age 19. The Sharing Shelf aims to provide each child it serves with a Wardrobe Pack, which includes a week's worth of seasonally appropriate clothing, essentials such as diapers for infants and toddlers, toiletry kits, period products, new socks, and new underwear.
