About

We offer free and exciting hands-on educational programs to the public through innovative exhibits, tours, and outreach events including our annual Pioneer Day at Old Settlers Association of Williamson County (WCOSA). We are very kid-friendly, and we encourage families to let the kids explore our many trunks and activitiesthroughout the exhibits.

Through our extensive educational outreach programs, our goal is to preserve the unique stories of the county for both present and future generations. The Museum provides exhibits with insight and accurate historical information based on first-hand sources in a variety of areas. This focus allows the Museum to effectively educate, entertain and enlighten our visitors.

In order to grow and continue serving large numbers of students, families, and visitors, we rely heavily on volunteer help in many different roles. We currently need volunteers to assist with education presentations, living history roles, tours of our historic courthouse, and as the docentsinside the museums. There are also opportunities to assist withadministrative tasks, cataloging collections, and special events such as Pioneer Days(occurring every May).
