About this Opportunity

Ward Acres Conservancy is seeking volunteers to help with pulling, digging, and cutting invasive plants around the park to make room for beneficial native plants that provide nectar, pollen, and berries for pollinators like Monarch butterflies, hummingbirds, and songbirds. Volunteers can also assist with litter and debris cleanup.

  • No special skills are needed
  • Wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and gloves
  • Tools will be provided but volunteers should bring their own pruning shears and loppers if they have them
  • Bring water in a reusable bottle

Note that there are no restrooms in the park. In the event of rain, the date will be canceled and volunteers should sign up for a future month. Sign up for one or more shifts below!

This project requires volunteers to sign a waiver. To volunteer:

  • Express interest below to record this opportunity in your Volunteer New York! profile and to alert the volunteer coordinator.
  • Click here to sign the mandatory liability waiver. All volunteers must sign this waiver before the project coordinator can confirm your ability to participate in the event. It can be signed electronically. You will not be registered if you do not complete this step!
