About this Opportunity
Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve: Teeming with life, the reserve is a dynamic, ever changing place with many interconnected habitats from the ocean to the forests. One of 29 National Estuarine Research Reserves in the country, this landscape protects and provides for a great diversity of plants and animals.
Volunteers help wilth onsite public outreach events (guided hikes, family seining, beach hikes, etc.) and offsite public outreach events (festivals, farmers' markets); Phytoplankton Monitoring Network; Assist with school field trip programs for elementary, middle, and high school students; Seasonal assistance with research monitoring and data collection (oysters, vegetation, etc.); Reptile and amphibian monitoring; Native garden landscaping and butterfly monitoring; and/or State of the Reserve Symposium.
