About the Friday Night Supper Program: The Friday Night Supper Program was founded in 1984 and provides warm, nutritious meals to Boston's hungry, homeless and low-income population. Since 1984, the FNSP has provided over 13,000 home-cooked meals a year to the homeless and hungry people in Boston, while doing so in a safe and hospitable environment. Through power outages and blizzards, FNSP has served its guests- they haven't missed a Friday yet! If you're interested in providing a donation, please click here to view the Friday Night Supper Program's Wish List.   Volunteers are needed each week to help prepare 130 meals for those in need of a hot, nutritious meal, made from whole foods. Volunteers will work under the direction of the Friday Night Supper Program kitchen manager. Volunteers can expect to help with tasks such as chopping vegetables, making soup, preparing casseroles, baking cakes, organising inventory, cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen, and more.   Please note: Volunteers should be prepared to stand for long periods, use kitchen knives, stand near a hot stove and are required to wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing.

Volunteers are needed to help set up the tables and chairs in the hall in preparation for the weekly Friday meal. Please come prepared to do light lifting and moving about. Remember to wear closed-toed shoes!

MBTA Line Accessibility: Arlington (Green Line) - located in the basement of ASC (also known as Parish Hall)

Note: this project is not wheelchair accessible.

At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
