Business Administration Volunteer
Location: Indianapolis, IN (In-Office Position)
Position Overview
Tangram is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Administration Volunteer to support the daily operations of our organization. This volunteer opportunity offers hands-on experience in administrative support, data management, reporting, and nonprofit operations. The volunteer will work closely with the finance and administrative teams, contributing to the organization’s overall efficiency and impact.
Responsibilities:

Assist with data entry and the maintenance of organizational records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger updates.

Support the tracking of spending and budgeting to help ensure financial accountability.

Help prepare internal and external reports for organizational stakeholders, including funders and regulatory agencies.

Participate in the preparation of budget materials and monitor financial performance against approved budgets.

Assist with audit preparation and help ensure compliance with nonprofit financial and administrative standards.

Provide general administrative support, such as invoice processing, filing, and organizing digital documentation.

Support the tracking and documentation of grant-related expenditures and fund allocations.

Perform basic data analysis and assist with special projects as needed to support process improvements.
Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Familiarity with administrative and financial processes (experience with nonprofit operations is a plus).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with accounting or administrative software (QuickBooks or similar) is a bonus.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Interest in supporting a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
Schedule
This is an unpaid volunteer position. Volunteers are asked to work in-office 2–3 days per week for 3–4 hours per day, with scheduling flexibility to accommodate school or other commitments.
