Pet Connections! Looking for Pet Volunteers to Visit Older Adults!

LITA (Love is the Answer) grew out of the desire to bring happiness, friendship and meaning into the lives of lonely and isolated older people living in Marin.

♥LITA matches volunteers (and Pet volunteers!) with older adults in need of friendship. This improves quality of lives, provides comfort, and helps to decrease loneliness and isolation.

♥Pets are family, and many times older adults have had to leave a beloved pet behind, or are no longer able to care for their pet and miss them dearly.  This is a devastating separation from their companion.  With Pet Connection, volunteers bring their pets as part of their weekly visits.  Pet visits help pet lovers make connections with people who have not been responsive to other types of interactions. 

♥Requirements are minimal to Volunteer with LITA:

An interview/orientation, and an ability to commit to visits on a regular basis. We ask our volunteers to be available for 1 hour per week, for a minimum 6 month committment (with the understanding that things will come up at times).

LITA accepts well behaved pets with basic obedience and commands mastered.

2. Return the completed application to Jennifer Sequeira, Director of Volunteers. Applications can be sent either via mail or email, whatever works best!
